Signatures
Most agreements are about the bins. Some are about money, or a car, or who is picking somebody up from hospital. Those ones can ask for a signature.
What it is
Turn it on when you write the agreement and it changes what agreeing means. Instead of tapping yes, each person reads the wording, says they have read it, and draws their name.
You sign too. An agreement where only one side has put their name to it is not an agreement, it is a demand.
Somebody who cannot draw can type their name instead, and the record says which they did. It never claims a typed name was drawn.

The part that matters
Every signature is tied to one specific version of the wording and to a fingerprint of that wording. Change so much as a date and the old signatures stop counting toward the new version.
They do not disappear. They stay exactly where they are, marked as belonging to the version they were made against, so the history reads “signed, then changed, then signed again” rather than quietly pretending the first one never happened.
That is the whole reason to have signatures here at all. Anybody can add a picture of a name to a document. Being able to say which words somebody signed is the part that is worth something later.
What this is not
This is not DocuSign. There is no identity verification, no certificate authority, no witnessing and no legal advice. We do not know that the person holding the phone is who they say they are, and we do not claim to.
What it is: proof that the person you sent it to opened it, read it, said so, and put their name to that exact wording at a recorded time. For the agreements this app is for, that is the honest and useful thing, and claiming more would be worse than claiming nothing.
If you need a contract that stands up in court, get a contract. If you need to remember what the two of you actually said, this is that.
Somebody writing “I’ll bring the wine” should barely notice this exists. It is one switch, on the agreements that want it.
